| Dufour Grand Large 560 |
SAIL THE FRENCH RIVIERA, ITALIAN MAINLAND, CORSICA, SARDINIA, SICILY, CROATIA, MONTENEGRO AND ON TO GREECE AND TURKEY!
SHARE THE EUROPEAN SAILING DREAM WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS THROUGH A 50% SHARE IN OUR FULLY EQUIPED 2015 DUFOUR 560.
IT CAN BE EASIER AND LESS EXPENSIVE THAN YOU MAY HAVE THOUGHT!
MY PARTNER AND I HAVE ENJOYED CRUISING GREECE AND TURKEY FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS ABOARD OUR BAVARIA 55 CRUISER. WE SHARED THAT BOAT WITH OUR FRIEND AND SWAPPED MID SEASON ( JULY 31ST ) AND ALTERNATED SEASONS EACH YEAR ENJOYING 3-4 MONTHS EACH.
WHEN OUR BAVARIA WAS DUE FOR A CHANGE OUR PARTNER DECIDED TO GO BIGGER AND WITH CREW - WHILE WE DECIDED TO STAY AT THE MID 50 FOOT RANGE EASILY MANAGED BY 2.
WE PURCHASED THIS GREAT 2015 DUFOUR 560 IN ITALY LAST AUGUST AND SINCE WE KNOW THAT AROUND 3 -4 MONTHS PER YEAR IS PLENTY FOR US, WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW PARTNER TO SHARE OWNERSHIP AND THIS GREAT LIFESTYLE.
IF YOU HAVE NOT CRUISED A GREAT DEAL OR AT ALL IN EUROPE - WE COULD EVEN EN A WEEK OR TWO TOGETHER WHILE YOU LEARN THE ROPES AND THEN YOU CAN CONTINUE TO BENEFIT FROM OUR EXPERIENCE VIA WHATSAPP TO GIVE ADVICE, TALK THROUGH SITUATIONS AND AND SWAP IDEAS WHEN NEEDED.
WE ARE FLEXIBE ABOUT SEASONS AND WHERE WE SAIL - OUR LOOSE PLAN IS TO START WITH CORSICA AND SARDINIA, THE WEST COAST OF ITALY AND THE ISLANDS IN BETWEEN - WE COULD WINTER IN SICILY ? MAYBE START TO HEAD BACK TO OUR BELOVED GREECE AND TURKEY PERHAPS VIA CROATIA AND MONTENEGRO.
WE LOVE' MED 'SAILING BETWEEN SHELTERED ANCHORAGES AND WITH A GENERATOR AND WATERMAKER AND A GOOD TENDER WE CAN SPEND WEEKS HOPPING BETWEENSHELETERED ANCHORAGES WITHOUT HAVING TO GO TO A MARINA ! WE JUST TAKE THE TENDER TO EXPLORE AND PROVISION ASHORE.
THE BOAT IS WINTERING AT IMPERIA, WITHITS CLASSIC OLD TOWN A COUPLE OF HOURS FROM NICE OR GENOA AIRPORTS AND CONNECTED BY TRAIN, THE BOAT IS BEING CHECKED OVER AND PREPARED FOR 2020 BY SIMON ALLTREE, A PERTH NATIVE WHO HAS LIVED AT IMPERIA FOR 11 YEARS AND WHO OWNS MARINE COMPOSITE AT THE MARINA WHERE SHE IS BERTHED.
TALK TO US AND LETS SEE !
Ownership Simplified:
50% share each partner = 50% usage, 50% of boat value and 50% of running costs and any improvements agreed.
Yr 1 owner 1has as early in 2020 as they wish until 31st July.
Owner2 has August 1st until 31st December.
Yr 2 Owner 2 has early season and owner one has from July 31st.
Sometimes if one owner particularly needed early season or late season - the other owner will do his best to reasonably accommodate that. Often our former partner would cross over for a few days mid season and have a great celebration of this fabulous adventure.
An approximate handover Port and cruising area is agreed. Usually we just book a flight to a nearby major city and book the last leg according to the partner's location.
If a long passage is agreed to move cruising area at the beginning of a season Eg Italy to Croatia or Italy to Greece owners could consider splitting the cost of paying for a pro skipper and crew for that passage.
Any repairs or replacements needed during the season are usually paid for by the owner on board entered on the running costs spreadsheet and this is reconciled if the spreadsheet gets out of balance. Usually at the end of a season the owner dropping off the boat will pay for the marina berth and then the other owner will pick up the next invoice for maintenance, anti foul and or insurance to level it out.
If one owner is negligent in causing damage he/ she would probably pick up the tab - but in our experience - anyone can make a mistake and a quick discussion sorted any issues out.
Approximate total running costs to be divided:
Winter Berth = 4,000 - 7,000 Euro depending on location.
Insurance = 3,000 Euro.
Lift out and in plus antifouling = 2,500 Euro.
Clean, polish, engine, gen and other servicing = 3,000 Euro.
Other repairs maintenance servicing and replacement = Average 5,000 - 8,000 Euro.
Total = 17,000 - 21,000 Euro per annum split 50/50.
