Little Harbor 50 |
There is little wonder why "Worlds Best Sailboats" has the Little Harbour 50 in there shortlist, this is one very special yacht to be truly appreciated by connoisseurs of yachting.
The exhilaration & sense of wellbeing experienced as you power to windward or reach to your favourite destination offers the helmsman and those on board a realisation that you are sailing one very special yacht!
Designed & built by the world famous Ted Hood Little Harbour Yachts "Ishara" has been continually updated & lovingly maintained to offer all the benefits of a moderate displacement centreboard yacht, perfectly suited for those short hops up the coast or long distance cruising, she is ready to cruise anywhere at a moment's notice.
With the centreboard up she draws a very accessible shallow draft of 5`6", however with her board down, draft increases to 10` 6" & her ability to power to windward is truly recognised.
Below decks the rich timber finishes along with new upholstery in 2014 give an old world charm, whilst offering all the modern conveniences of an extremely well set up modern day turn key cruising yacht thanks to the new wiring & systems installed in 2016. New 110 HP Yanmar motor installed mid 2019 with only 50 hours. Ventilation below decks comes from large dorade vents & side opening hatches.
On deck her recently replaced spars, rigging & sails combined with easy to use Leisurefurl furling boom and mainsail operated by her compliment of electric winches make short handed sail handling a breeze.
