The GT 54 manages effortlessly to be one hard-core, dead set serious fishing machine and a superbly comfortable almost luxury cruiser all in one. From her aft facing mezzanine level seat with air conditioning vents to keep anglers & crew cool whilst watching lures or baits, to the innovative self-draining scupper system which quickly clears any water that enters the cockpit this is one very cool boat.
The helm area of this stylish game fisher has just been upgraded with 2 X New 17" Garmin Sounder & Navigation displays which also has the FLIR thermal imaging camera fitted to the fly bridge hardtop.
The 54GT manoeuvres on a dime whilst either in forward or reverse and will chase down an angry billfish at 9 knots in reverse, the optional trolling valves allow slow speeds to 2.3 knots whilst trolling baits.
The centrally located fully baffled 4,500 litre fuel tank is centrally located to avoid changes in trim at varying fuel levels, whist her 680 litre water tank is aft combined with a Sea recovery water maker offers endless fresh water supply.
All bulkheads & cabinet work are laminated into place, helping to supply rigidity to the Divinycell foam cored structure above the waterline enabling the substantial weight saving over others in her class. The entire outside of the boat is urethane painted to avoid oxidisation of the gelcoat & allow easy colour matching of repairs.
The immaculate engine room houses the twin C18 Cats supplying 1135 HP ea and with only 1300 hours on them accelerate the 54 effortlessly to offer a cruise speed of 23knots @ 248 litre / hr at 1800 rpm with a top speed of 33 knots at a tank capacity of 50%(2000 litres). The burn rate drops to 10 litres / hr at a trolling speed of 8 knots. These speeds are achieved via 5 blade Michigan Nibral props (with spare shafts & props still in boxes) which are recessed into the hull tunnels of the variable dead rise hull, which not make for more efficient running & reversing, by not digging the stern in, but also reduce the draft in shallow bay areas.
The 2 Generators/ Water maker / Compressor / 7 X Air conditioning units along with a host of other inclusions are all easily accessed. The Pipe welders hardtop is a masterpiece.
The new Davco crane rated at 500 kgs easily handles the 3.6 metre Brigs RIB and 50 HP Honda 4 stroke outboard all new in 2017, make getting ashore or visiting other boats a breeze.
